Straight off the phone or the camera. HEIC and JPEG, capture time and location kept intact. Full-resolution originals go to the AI; thumbnails and display copies are handled separately.
AI drafts findings
Every photograph is read against the report template with structured output, confidence scoring and trade suggestions. When it is uncertain — bad light, awkward angle — it routes to Not assessed, never to a passing status.
Review and publish

What the AI actually does

You photograph the site as you always have. instructBrain looks at every photo, describes what it sees in the language you’d use, decides how serious it is, and says what to do about it. It only describes conditions and hazards — never people.
When it can’t tell — bad light, awkward angle — it says so rather than guessing. You review, correct anything wrong, and publish.
Where a finding sits under a regulation, it names the one from the verified set — and never invents a number.
Suggested trades are suggestions, not assertions. A human confirms every assignment before anything is distributed.
Findings involving people are restricted to supervisors and above, and excluded from every subcontractor distribution at the database level.

A regulation is cited from the verified list, or it isn’t cited at all. If the instrument you want isn’t in it, the citation is named in words and flagged for confirmation. An invented clause number is the one thing that never happens.
The set is UK law — England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland differ, and where a project sits outside England and Wales the report says the citation must be checked for that jurisdiction.
British Standard numbers are reliable; editions and amendments move, so where an edition matters the report notes that it should be confirmed.
